Flea market find and a Christmas Tree.

Ahhhhhh....I love the cool weather. Yes we get it here in Louisiana. The sky is blue and perfectly clear. It is just a Beautiful day. Jaxon is playing in the backyard with the chickens and I decided to share something with you. There has been many times throughout this weekend I could have scrapped but decided the weather was too beautiful to stay inside so Jasin and I had a dinner date with some friends and we took the kids to Cabalas. An outdoor persons dream store....They have everything you need to hunt, camp, fish. They have different types of guns, items for Archery and even boats. It is a fun place for the kids to hang out and look around.

So last weekend was my October Scrap event and we went to the flea market. I have to show you my favorite purchase. Usually I buy old composition books to use on the embellishment bar. So people can tear out the pages and use it for journaling. Well my intentions for this book were the same. When I purchased it I thought only 1 page was written on...It was a recipe for Corn Fritters. Well when we sat down to eat and I was showing everyone what I purchased I realized most of the old Amos and Andy Composition book was full of recipes, in the back there are even a few daily menus and ways to make your straw broom last longer and how to clean a pan with scorched food in it. I think my favorite recipe is one for white cake. They use lemon extract and I have never heard of this but the first ingredient is 2 "scant" cups of sugar. I am so intrigued by this little book it will forever be a special item in my little collection of unique things. Here are some pictures.

Remember I told you about Deana, She made a framed tree picture and I asked her if I could use the idea for a project for the event. Well I made another tree, only this one is for Christmas. When I was demonstrating different ways to make the little flower circles I decided to show everyone how to make a Christmas tree as well. The possibilities are truly endless with this little project. Here it is. I used glimmer mist to achieve the background look. You should get our your misting spray and some scratch paper and play around a bit. You might be pleasantly surprised.

The frame I used for this one came from the flea market...It was just $1.00.

The quote reads,"Sing praise and joy to God above, for His glorious gift of peace and love!"
