Go check out Faith Sisters!
The first challenge is up for all of you to see.... Just title your story....There will be a new challenge each week for the next year. By the end of the year you will have an album of your family history, past and present....
Here is my title page....
The background is the new Jenni Bowlin embossed Coordinations paper, Websters pages ( bird, flowers, leaves and the word "adore"), Prima fabric dress form, flower ( cut for top of dress on dress form), Bits and pieces from Jenni Bowlins kit for December.
I am so excited to be a part of the creative team and see what God has in store for this year as I reflect on times in the past, cherish moments of the present and leave behind a legacy for my future generations.
I have to say I really struggled with this project and almost quit the team..... That is not like me to quit anything. I figured out that it is so important for me to take this journey and to share my story, all the good and all the bad { the bad is not as bad as I make it to be in my mind}. Family is so important to me but my idea of family may not be yours. My story does not fall under the all time favorite ..... first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in a baby carriage....My mom and dad did not get married and never really had the best of stories to tell about how they met, how I got here and right now they are in 2 totally different worlds...very apart from each other. My memories are few of me growing up.... So on this journey I am going to share with you what memories I have as a child { though I think I have repressed a lot of them and replaced them with memories of what I thought a family should be },
memories of my grandfather { who raised me up and shared wisdom with me and was all I knew as a male role model}, of my creative grandmother { who showed me that anything is possible when you put your mind to it}, A son {who I have not seen in 10 years because of lifes unexpected turns }, A pen pal and amazing friend {who I met when I was 11 and to this day still remain in contact}, a journey of friendships to lead me to the best friends a girl could ever have, My husband { who challenges me everyday to forget the past and live for now}, my mother-in-law { let's just say I may think at times her ways are very unconventional but she has been through it all and has great wisdom in the Lord and I have the utmost respect for her}, My church family { I did not grow up in the church, in fact, until 8 years ago never ever wanted to step foot in another church as long as lived.... I thank God everyday for His mercy and grace...He is my strength and with Him all things are possible} but mostly you will hear stories of the next generation....MY family { my husband { Jasin } and our children....Alexandria { my daughter fromw a previous marriage, My husband, Jasin, has taken in as his own }, Jacob, Jesse and Jaxon.
My lifetime story is my journey to Finding Peace. I know it is possible.
