A Challenge and a Book Tag.... You are it!

Well this is very interesting...... I am in a season in my life right now where I am really seeking to be closer to God.... So this blog post is a lot about my faith!!! I am a magazine article, short story, slacker of a reader. My husband blows through any book he gets his hand on... The last novel I read I am very embarrassed to say was a Romance book I picked out in the airport when I was 17. I have read a couple of self help books but do not call myself the reader in the family.... Well in my "old" I have really been kickin' myself in the tush to find a good book.... Well my pastor last week gave everyone a 30 day challenge which I am putting into effect immediately....

You must wake up 1 hour earlier each day....
Spend time in devotions, journaling, prayer and reading....
While journaling write down five ideas that inspire us to move into action...
Circle one of the five things....
Make 5 phone calls or contacts to put your most inspiring idea into motion....

If you are in the area and would love to get into a great series... join us Sunday at 9am or 11am and Wednesday at 6:30pm.... Oh if you take the challenges given through the Wednesday night series... Pastor Jay is giving away a Kindle... a cool gadget that downloads books straight from the internet. Email me for directions.

P.S. I made my first contacts today.... Oh wow what doors opened and I would have never thought.... God is so Good!!!

I always say we need to step outside that box..... this means.... take action, move forward and get out of that comfy place we tend to hybernate in!!!!

Today I was tagged by Julie... Her tag was a book tag.... oh wow.... confirmation.... well here is what we have to do...What you have to do is ….

1. Pick up the book that you have most handy
2. Turn to page 161
3. Find the 5th complete sentence
4. Cite the sentence on your blog
5. Pass it on to 5 other unsuspecting blogger friends.

Okay well we are in a sermon series at church.... It is 7 rules and 7 decisions.... Want to hear the podcast go Part of this sermon is teaching us to read our bibles, journaling and prayer.... So I have started the "read your bible in a year" program... I downloaded a little schedule on line and just started following it...journal and pray and I tell you it was just in time. I do not think I could have sanely made it through these last few weeks.... Lots to sort through!!!!! So Here is page 161, the 5th sentence in my New King James Bible.....

Leviticus 25:3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit; But in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord.

See even the Lord wants us to REST!!!!

I challenge all my readers to take this challenge and tag.... I hear reading makes you smarter...makes you think... I need to be thinking about the things that inspire me and stop sweating all the small stuff...

My pastor also gave us a list of books to read... I am off to the book store tomorrow to get my first book.... I am very excited about this challenge.... God is up to something GOOD... So many exciting things happening around every corner I turn.
Thanks for the Challenge, Pastor Jay and thanks for the tag, Julie.

Any suggestions on a great book are greatly appreciated... Also, please comment and let me know if you will be taking on the challenge with me!!!!
