Love means....

When I was looking for a photo to create my layout for My Fave Things Challenge....Decades, I came across this photo of me..... I think I own maybe 5 photos of me when I was a kid and since my mom and I really don't talk much I don't think I will get anymore....

So I have to say I do not remember having this dog. Looks like we were buddies though. I was 1 year old in this photo. Dated December 1977, So I guess I was closer to 2 years old, as my B-day is in March! So The dog is not the reason I love this photo....

On the back, in my moms handwriting, is a sweet little quote!!!
It reads,

"Bunner and Amy, Love means never taking your eyes off one another."

So that is my title and journaling and here is the layout I made.

I used the new embossed coredinations paper {polka dot} that came in my Jenni Bowlin kit. Studio Calico has a line they are selling to retailers. The blue and green frames were cut out of a piece of that paper and the ruffled/pleated strips under the photo are the fabric rips. So cool. The picture of the little girl eating an ice cream with the dog is a page from an old childrens math book from the 50's. It has the cutest little pictures. The little girl in the middle is a sweet vintage piece I purchased from Jenni Bowlin months ago... I hold onto things I really love for awhile....I wait for the perfect page for them to go on.

How true is that little quote. So often we do get busy, lose track of time, forget, make excuses and just life in general keeps us from focusing on the things that are really important to us....Like family. I love my husband, I don't always like him but he is the best man in the world for me. Same goes for my children. I will always love them but sometimes you just don't like them very much.
We are in the holiday season....I know that may scare some of you, but we are. Thanksgiving is next week. Be thankful for what you have. Be thankful for your family even if you have to stuff another bite of turkey down your throat to keep from saying something you will regret later. Give someone a hug if they look down and out and smile at them even if they don't smile back. Sow the seed of happiness and a thankful heart. You may not see them come around but they will. They will remember you were nice to them when they were not nice to you and they will pay it forward.

Have a fabulous week. Hugs, Amy

  1. This is such a wonderful layout - I love that photo of you (I too had blonde curls) and everything you used on the layout is so perfect to create a nostalgic look - each little detail like the little girls, the lace, the little frame - all so right. And the quote is the best - I love your whole posting today - so full of truth and love. have a great week!
